The Lounge
Perhaps the most mysterious level, the Nest originated as a house for firecrackers with an inevitable explosive ending in 1887. Rumor has it that the building then became home to a risqué gentlemen’s club. It still retains such charm as it watches over one of the busiest corners in the Gaslamp.
The Nest can be best referred to as a lounge, complete with two fireplaces, a lush law library, pool table and a custom green marble bar. Polished hardwood floors intermixed with rich leather furniture create an intimate and indulgent ambiance perfect for private celebrations.
The Underground
The endless possibilities overwhelm you as soon as you turn the corner and descend into The Underground. With authentic German slogans inscribed on the original brick walls, this level imparts the feeling that anything could happen. One can envision Mick Jagger performing on stage, or even Joe Namath sipping champagne in the corner booth.
Whether you want to dance the night away, share a laugh at the now-famous Gaslamp Comedy Show or rock out to live music, the possibilities in The Underground are endless. This versatile space is equipped with a private stage and dance floor all under a solid sound and lighting system. No matter what your needs, The Underground continues to yield one unforgettable night after another.
The Main
Dating back to the early 1900s, the Main bar has been servicing this corner since before the days of prohibition. The names have changed, but the experience certainly has not. See and be seen by the floor to ceiling windows or hideaway in a cozy, vaulted booth.
Treat your taste buds to our fresh-squeezed Salty Dog or Orange Crush at the beautiful forty-foot mahogany bar.
